On the charts below, click on fires of each type (human-caused wildfires, natural wildires, prescribed burns and mutual aid responses) to highlight historical trends and patterns on annual and monthly temporal scales. Click the legend labels to toggle fire types on and off.
The chart on the left is the same as the one at the top of this page, with one difference. Highlighting on this chart will highlight the corresponding mark on the map on the right, showing where the fire occured. First, select a color with the brush tool located above the map. Then, select a time period of fires on the left. Choose a new color to highlight multiple periods of interest. You can also select a fire on the map by clicking and holding on the fire’s footprint. Change this brush color with the tool located at the very top of the chart.
